CWS General Meeting - Art, Music and the Mind; Synesthesia experience featuring Katy Wherry, flute

CWS General Meeting Nov 17, 2026

This is NOT your average CWS meeting! Join us for an immersive experience as we explore Synesthesia - the connection between art, music, and the mind. We'll start with an incredible presentation on the psychological phenomenon of synesthesia. Then, we'll all try out the art-music-mind connection for ourselves!

You'll need:

A sketchbook

A writing/drawing implement

A small travel set of watercolors (if you choose)

*Please keep in mind that we will be in our usual small Community Room at the LCC. Do not bring your large plein air setups as there will not be enough space.

Live Music will be performed by our guest musician and professional flutist, Katy Wherry. Katy's passion for varying genres of music has provided her with opportunities to give performances and teach masterclasses around the world. Katy is a regular performer with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and performswith many chamber groups of different styles including jazz, rock, pop and open improvisation. As a recording artist she has been featured on albums as a soloist, podcasts, video game soundtracks and more.
