We are seeking up to 35 artists for the 2024 Boulder County Plein Air Festival, to be held June 1st-June 8th. The 2024 Festival is a plein air (outdoor) painting festival and competition for artists from across the country.

Participation Details:

The 2024 Boulder County Plein Air Festival application is available online at callforentry.org, listed as “2024 Boulder County Plein Air Festival.”  Application deadline is February 4, 2024. This call is open to all artists 18 years and older, in the United States. All painting media are eligible. 

 

Participation in the 2024 Boulder County Plein Air Festival is juried by a panel composed of practicing artists, teachers, collectors, and curators. The panel will review all submitted applications and select up to 35 artists who will be invited to participate. Total participation is targeted at 25 to 35 artists. 

An exhibition and sale of the works created during The Festival will be hosted by Open Studios at the Historic Niwot Feed Store Gallery in “Vintage” downtown Niwot, Colorado. An Opening Reception will be held Saturday, June 8th, from 5:00-7:00 pm. The artist voting (cash prize awards, see below) will take place at this opening and will be based on the entire body of work displayed by each artist.
