My name is Sydney Eitel, current President of CWS. This organization is a great group to be a part of. I have grown tremendously as an artist since I joined CWS in 2003; growing most by simply deciding to be involved. In my early affiliation with CWS, I attended workshops and meetings, sat shows and began to meet other artists. Years later, I answered the need for a chair to the State Exhibition and also served as Recording Secretary.

As President of CWS, I plan to lead through servitude. I may be the leader, but I am here to serve members through that leadership. CWS invites artists and “want to be” artists of all levels. Signature membership is an honor bestowed upon an artist who has been juried into three CWS sponsored exhibits over a 10-year span.

CWS provides a multitude of opportunities for growth and exposure. CWS sponsors the State Watercolor Exhibit, New Trends Exhibit and Members Only Exhibit. New members are also invited to bring a painting to display at the CWS annual ice cream social each September. Our monthly meetings are planned in a manner that offers exciting presentations. We host workshops with national artists who offer fantastic opportunities to learn new techniques - and members pay a discounted registration rate. CWS also belongs to Western Federation Watercolor Societies which hosts an exhibit in a different state of one of the member societies each year.
